SP Entertainment’s Bengal Idol Season 1 brought together fifty competing singers, narrowed through an online contest to ten finalists. The prize distribution ceremony was held in Kolkata, attended by artists, journalists and cultural figures.
Banasri Ghoshal served on the judging panel. “Choosing between singers this good is genuinely difficult,” she said. “Many of them sang beautifully. The judging becomes a question of very small margins.”
Season 2 has been announced.
